Metta - Loving Kindness Meditation
The practice of Metta meditation is a beautiful way to cultivate compassion for self and others. It is a calm focus guided style meditation. You will be asked to direct lovingkindness toward yourself and then, in a sequence of expansion, towards somebody you love. Somebody you are neutral towards. Somebody you have difficulty with. And lastly toward all beings everywhere without distinction. Think of those people before beginning the practice.
Please allow for 20 minutes in a quiet place. Sit comfortably on the floor or a chair with your back straight and hands resting on your legs or over your heart space.
